20 years of Creativity on Strategy: SpiessConsult celebrates a milestone birthday

Ina Spiess founded the communications consultancy at the beginning of 2005 // Its first clients were Bayer and Toll Collect // The agency quickly grew into a full-service provider for internal and external communications and brand management

‘After completing an Executive MBA and wanting to work independently from 2005, I initially thought of smaller consulting tasks after founding the company,’ recalls Ina Spiess. ’But then everything happened very quickly, starting with an international employee campaign for Bayer AG, which wanted to reorganise its innovation management worldwide.’ Thanks to recommendations and former clients of the predecessor agency getting in touch again, the range of services and team size continued to grow in the years that followed. Today, the founder describes her company as follows: ‘We offer strategy, content and creative consulting, as well as the full

range of services of an advertising and PR agency. For us, consulting expertise, creative strength and reliable project execution go hand in hand. Thousands of projects and 30 years of industry experience are testament to this. And most importantly for us: we guarantee personal support from a senior contact person at all times.’

The agency works for medium-sized companies and institutions as well as for large corporations – over the last five years, for example, for Bayer, Toll Collect, the logistics group DSV, which is currently taking over Schenker from Deutsche Bahn, for the TÜ V NORD GROUP, the mobile communications infrastructure company, the INFORUM publishing company, the GNS (Gesellschaft für Nuklearsicherheit), the SAP consultancy ECENTA, Covestro AG and Deutsche Telekom AG.

‘This has been made possible by a lean, modular business model that offers a high degree of flexibility, speed and cost efficiency, and that has connected some customers with us since our foundation,’ reports Robert Fuchs, who has been managing partner together with Ina Spiess since 2006. ’In practice, this means that we are as big as necessary and as small as possible. Either just strategy consulting or creative ideas. Or the entire integrated range of services of an advertising and PR agency. Including roll-outs of complete, even international campaigns and process management for large projects with a large number of participants.’

In addition to the business model, Fuchs continues, one thing in particular is crucial at SpiessConsult: the people, who all have a passion for good communication. ‘We are a great team. And we enjoy our work. If it's up to us, we'll just carry on like this.’
