Toll over 3.5t: Toll Collect launches information campaign with ‘strong’ testimonials
Introduction of ‘Toll over 3.5t’ from 1 July 24 // Information required for many new target groups // Advertising agency SpiessConsult is developing an integrated campaign for out-of-home media, POS and print
From 1 July 2024, vehicles intended for or used for road haulage with a technically permissible maximum laden mass (TPM) of over 3.5 tonnes will be subject to a toll. There are exceptions for tradespeople. Overall, however, many drivers and companies whose vehicles were previously not affected will have to deal with the issue of tolls. This is because previously, only trucks over 7.5 tonnes were subject to tolls.
However, Toll Collect is making it easy for those who are now subject to the toll: with the on-board unit (OBU). Anyone who installs it can use it to participate in the automatic toll system and simply pay the toll automatically – instead of manually with the app or online via the TC website.
And that is what a nationwide campaign starting today with animations on info screens at petrol stations and in trade magazines is showing, which works with ‘strong’ testimonials: two weightlifters who show everyone ‘over 3.5 t’ how ‘easy’ toll payment can be with the OBU.
