‘Whistleblowing": The ability to report misconduct within an organisation is one of the basic building blocks of a company's compliance organisation. However, it can only function effectively if all employees are aware of the reporting channels and are confident that their identity and data will be treated confidentially. This applies in particular if a report is not made anonymously.
The issue has taken on a particular urgency with the entry into force of the Whistleblower Protection Act in Germany in July 2023.
